The family hub
Our own house, one page of links
Films, requests, logins, games, and the helpers that answer from our own machines. Everything below is a door you can walk through, or a door we are building. Nothing here asks you to install anything, and nothing here prints a password, an address, or a port.
01Open today
Every link below was fetched from outside the house on 1 November 2026, from a device with no tunnel on the route. The words on the pills are fixed, and they mean exactly this:
Live — Jellyfin open and in use today
Working today running and in use, not finished
Being built running, with a piece missing
Planned designed, not built
Undecided we want your opinion
Films & television Live — Jellyfin
Our own shelf, on our own disks: films, series, and the music as its shelves get set up. What you ask for lands on this shelf — the request page and the finders behind it are working, and today that is measured, not promised. It plays on the television, a tablet, a laptop, and the phone in your pocket, and it works away from home as well as inside the house. Nothing rented, nothing that quietly leaves the catalogue next year.
What you do: sign in with your family login, press play. If a film will not start on an old device, the server re-shapes it while you watch — that is the machine's work, not yours.
Open the film shelf →Ask for a film by name Working today
Type the name of a film or a series; the house finds it, brings it in, and puts it on the film shelf. This is measured, not a hope: a series asked for this morning was on the shelf within the hour, and seven asks went in today. Sign in with the same family login you use for the films — the request page uses that login, it does not keep a second one.
What you do: sign in, type a name, tell us if it never lands. The honest part: the request page has one account today, and accounts are made by Cody, one at a time — there is no sign-up button, so ask and you get one. The finders and the download machine are wired up now, which is the piece that was missing in the rebuild.
Ask for something →Your login Working today
One login, one password — and it is the login the film shelf uses, so signing in here is what gets you into the films. The plan is that it opens every door that needs one, so you never keep a second account for a second app.
What you do: get an account from Cody, then sign in here once. There is no "sign yourself up" button, on purpose: accounts are made by a person, so nobody joins a family house uninvited.
Sign in →What is up and what is down Working today
One page that says it plainly: thirty-one checks on the services, the logins, the disks, and the doors. Alerts go to our family channel for the serious things only — a watcher that pings for everything is a channel nobody reads.
What you do: look here before you blame the Wi-Fi. Green page, red app: the problem is the device, not the house.
Check the board →02Being built, in the order they will get a link
These are running, planned, or waiting on a decision. They have no link of their own yet, and the honest reason is in each card. A link goes up when the thing behind it has a login, an owner, and a person who can switch it off.
A chat with our own AI In testing
Ask questions, get help with writing, brainstorm, or just talk. It answers from our own machines — no company sees the conversations, nothing is training on them, and there is no subscription. In testing for the two of us today. Family sign-ups open when the testing finishes, and the helper that answers the family will be one that cannot spend money, reveal a password, or delete a thing without a human.
Game servers you start and stop yourself Being built
The games machine runs in the datacentre today, and asking us for a server works now. Family-friendly multiplayer: no ads, no paywalls. The page where you start and stop a server yourself is being built, and it moves onto a panel we host with our own accounts — the control room today is a page on a machine we do not fully control. Any change to the games layer is scheduled with the people whose servers live there, never dropped on a plan.
Books read aloud in a chosen voice Planned
A book on the shelf, read to you in a voice you pick, and the page marks where you stopped. Measured and proven on our own hardware; the shelf around it is not switched on yet, and the bookmark-per-person part is the whole point, so it gets proven before the link goes up. Books and audiobooks are on hold while the media rooms are rebuilt.
Family photos on our own drives Undecided
The question in plain words: do you want your phone to copy its pictures to our drives as soon as you are home — the same thing a big company does, on our own disk, with nobody training on your faces and nothing deleted when an account lapses? Not in the plan yet, because it needs decisions about space and privacy. Tell us and it goes in.
Real backups Being built
Honest admission: today we have none. The media library is one copy in one building. The plan is agreed and the software is chosen; the destination — a drive down the road, or a cloud — is Cody's decision, not a task we schedule for ourselves. This is the top of the queue, above every shiny thing on this page.
One login that opens every door · alerts that shout only for the serious things · the plain name at the top of the house, with no test. in front of it · the game panel on our own accounts. The order is the queue: the front door, the backups, then the shiny things.
